We have so many op-shops, and let’s face it….money’s tight for everyone and it’s not going to get any easier, so the op shops aren’t going anywhere anytime soon and they’re truly a good cause helping those in need. So lets capitalize on that….perhaps we could have a heritage trail encompassing op shops for different theme’s ie the vintage clothing, and vintage/antique lovers and then they can stop for lunch/coffee and perhaps the cafes could serve some old time favorites or work in partnership with each other for menu choices for each course (perhaps a ballot could be entered for the cafe’s or some type of system with the menu’s submitted meeting certain criteria under a certain budget) for a progressive dinner or lunch as part of a Vintage/Heritage Day Out held each week or each Month etc and have some aspiring musicians (buskers) playing some old time favorites (this would add some charm to the area and they are very easy listening songs and I’m sure the Senior Citizens in the area would love to hear them too when they go about their shopping and have a trip down memory lane.

Another theme could be a children’s shopping day with bargains/menu’s with children in mind etc etc.. The lovely old Wynnum School could be used as a starting and finishing point, isn’t that now a Community Center?

I believe some major Capital Cities have volunteer walking guides. Perhaps we could have some local volunteer guides for Wynnum also. I’m sure there’s plenty of people that have lived in Wynnum all their lives and have lots of knowledge and stories to share.

Just a few suggestions. Come on everyone let’s get enthusiastic and put your heads together ….. let’s make this happen and start our lovely Wynnum being appreciated for it’s heritage, character & charm (instead of trying to be modernized with installations of plastic buckets & spades) Let’s keep its charm & keep it classic!
